An odd man once said: There is always a solution. The key is to focus more energy on the solution than the problem.

The scrawny boat capsized leaving Delilah in a precarious situation. As she bobbed fearfully in the water, a scaly object rub against her leg.

Delilah was far from home and nobody was searching for her. As the terror built in her imagination, she envisioned monsters emerging from the depths and the distant island’s mountains spawning freakish beasts to pluck the skin from her still vibrant frame. Her feet then felt heavy as she imagined an evil mermaid filling her shoes with sand. Delilah’s spirit began to sink and was dragging the rest of her with it. She knew she was doomed and thusly she was.

As Delilah sunk, something occurred to her. Delilah’s parents had always boasted to their friends that their daughter had the longest legs in her class. Perhaps this advantage might help her now. Delilah, believing in herself, stretched her legs down as far as she could until she touched the bottom. She then stood up.
